Action Week in Hawtonville

I would really like to thank you all for helping out and providing support for the events.

Monday - Leaflet drop - we delivered 442 leaflet packs with the help of a police volunteer consisting of beat team contact details, a newsletter and advert for the open morning to all properties on Cleveland Square, Beech Avenue, Carswell Close, Carlton Close, Carlton Road, Bellmond Close, Cranmer Road, Gladstone Road and Gopher Road (Me and Amanda started this the week before as there was so many!)

Tuesday - Community speed check - we covered Elizabeth Road and Churchill Drive and checked 32 vehicles in total, 5 of which were travelling 10% or more above the speed limit and will be sent letters.

Wednesday - The open morning brought together police, housing officers, ASB officers, local counsellors and TRA and was attended by 15 people who had come from Cleveland Square, Carswell Close, Carlton Close, Elm Avenue and Bailey Road. We also had a stall at Netto in the afternoon where we spoke to 15 people who were given crime reduction advice, leaflets, door stickers, purse bells etc and signed 4 people up to the text alert system for burglaries.

Thursday - We spent an hour and a half on the walkabout and concentrated on St. Mary's Gardens, Chantry Close and Cherry Holt. We then attended the meeting at Vale View to discuss Grange Road community hub at the new housing development and left a very large box of crime reduction leaflets to be left in the centre.

Friday - Scrap Wagon op covering all beat areas in Newark. Off road team over for the day.

Saturday - Off road team over for the day.

Any time in between was spent on high visibility patrols.
